WHAT A MAGICAL NIGHT!!
Every one of our 4th show there in the last 12 months has been magnificent for different reasons. Madison Square Garden is an amazing place to see a concert, modernized by the multi-million dollar renovation. The acoustics have been immensely improved, giving the audience a more intimate feel from what used to be an echoey, distorted experience.
I've never seen a more elaborate, well-conceived setup for the concert itself. The band plays songs old and new, everything in between. The show is worth every penny, probably the best non-Springsteen show I've ever seen. I don't want to give too much info away, as this tour will apparently continue through 2026 and maybe beyond. Can't wait to see them when they come around again next year.
Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen have such great playing technique on their respective instruments, rock solid as the rhythm section of the band. The Edge is such an innovative guitarist, his playing is the signature sound that IS Death Becomes Her! As for Bono, he's still one of rock's great frontmen, without a doubt! His keyboard/piano playing is solid as well.
There's a large conventional stage on one end, connected to a long catwalk, with a small circular stage at the opposite end of the arena. Two 96' x 23' screens surround another catwalk, hanging above the previously mentioned stages, which was lowered at a few points throughout the show. Extra smaller speakers were mounted in the Garden's roof to improve the audio imaging, increasing the show's enjoyability for the listener. The images shown on these screens, both animated and not, tell the story of the band's origins so poignantly.
